EMS

You can become a Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in Illinois, then go on to Paramedic or Fire Science Program. The EMT program begins in January on the Moraine Valley campus. Students must be 17 YEARS OLD by 9/1 of senior year to register for the course and are responsible for transportation to Moraine Valley and clinical sites. Successful completers receive eight college credits and are eligible to challenge the Illinois Department of Public Health EMT State Examination after successful completion of the course. Moraine Valley Community College’s EMT program has been approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Application

ACT/SAT scores must be submitted to MVCC. The college will accept the actual score report or a student’s transcript.

High School Authorization Form

A background check is required for EMS-101 but it is completed after the start of class and the form is given to students on the first day of class.
